Accelerated Motor Repairs is owned and run by Danny Atkins and Warner Cherrett. We want our business to have the best reputation of any garage in the area, so when we work on your car we make sure we leave no stone unturned. We learned our trade in the pits of Britain’s racetracks and we apply the same values of precision, thoroughness and attention to detail to every vehicle that comes in. Our aim is to give a better level of service than you would expect from a dealership at a price that competes with your local garage.
I did two years working for a Clio Cup team and a season in Touring Cars before studying to get my National Diploma in Motorsport Engineering, and then a further two years for my Higher National Diploma. I then worked for 18 months with Abbey Motorsport before setting up Accelerated Motor Repairs with Danny. I have a Renault Clio that I’m gradually upgrading for racing and when I haven’t got my head under a bonnet, I like to go climbing and mountain biking.
I started in bikes, working towards my NVQ Level 3 in Motorcycle Maintenance and Repair. I was then offered an apprenticeship at Yamaha UK, where I worked for six-and-a-half years, rising up in the workshop until I was going around the world preparing bikes for launches and leading test-drives. Before joining Warner to launch Accelerated Motor Repairs I helped a team in the British Superbikes Championship. I have a Mitsubishi Evo, which I’ve started using for track days, and I do a bit of Motocross and climbing in my spare time.
